Hanoi - Ha Giang - Dong Van Karst Plateau Tour

Tour Itinerary

DAY 1: HANOI - HA GIANG - QUAN BA - YEN MINH (LUNCH, DINNER)

• 06:30 AM: Our car and guide will pick you up at the appointed meeting point in the Old Quarter and Hanoi Opera House area. We'll depart for the Ha Giang tour. You'll have a rest stop for breakfast on the expressway and another short break in Tuyen Quang.

• 11:00 AM: Have lunch in Tan Yen town (Ham Yen, Tuyen Quang).

• 02:00 PM: Stop to visit the sacred Doi Co Cau Ma Temple, located right on the banks of the Lo River.

• 03:00 PM: Arrive in Ha Giang city. Take a 기념photo at Kilometre Zero of Ha Giang.

• 04:30 PM: Stop at the Quan Ba Heaven's Gate checkpoint to take photos of the Fairy Bosom (Nui Doi Co Tien), also known as Quan Ba Twin Mountains, and a panoramic view of Tam Son town from above. On the way to Yen Minh, you can take photos of the buckwheat flowers at some beautiful fields along the winding roads next to the cliffs (the peak blooming season is from September to mid-December annually).

• 06:30 PM: Arrive in Yen Minh. Check into your hotel and have dinner. The evening is free for you to relax. Overnight in Yen Minh.

DAY 2: YEN MINH – LUNG CU – MA PI LENG – DONG VAN (BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER)

• 06:30 AM: Check out of the hotel, have breakfast, and depart to admire the fascinating landscapes of the Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark:

  • Pho Cao with the unique houses of the H'mong people, surrounded by stone fences.

  • Visit Lung La village to see the ancient house of the H'mong people with rammed earth walls, which was the setting for the 2006 film "The Story of Pao" by director Ngo Quang Hai. The film, adapted from the short story "The Jew's Harp Behind the Stone Fence," won 4 Golden Kite Awards. You'll stop to rest and take photos of the buckwheat flowers near the Nine-bend Slope.

  • The Vuong Family's Palace (Palace of the H'mong King) in Sa Phin valley. This was the richest and most powerful family in Dong Van in the early 20th century.

  • Conquer the Ma Pi Leng Pass on the way to Meo Vac, which is the most beautiful section of the "Happiness Road."

  • Take photos of the majestic beauty of the Ma Pi Leng Canyon, a 800-meter deep gorge—the deepest tectonic rift in Vietnam. Afterward, continue back through Meo Vac town to get to Yen Minh.

• 12:00 PM: Return to Dong Van town for lunch. Then, check into the hotel, drop off your luggage, and rest.

• 02:00 PM: The group will board the car to go to Lung Cu. Visit the Lung Cu Flagpole, the northernmost point of Vietnam.

• 05:00 PM: Return to Dong Van town. You'll have free time at the hotel.

• 06:30 PM: Have dinner at a local restaurant. In the evening, you are free to explore Dong Van Old Quarter, a place that has existed for nearly a century. You can also enjoy a cup of coffee at a cafe in the Old Quarter (at your own expense). Overnight in Dong Van town.

DAY 3: DONG VAN - HA GIANG - HANOI (BREAKFAST, LUNCH)

• Morning: Wake up early to witness the vibrant scene as people from different ethnic groups gather from all directions for the Dong Van Market session, which takes place every Sunday morning.

• 07:00 AM: Have breakfast and get on the bus to return to Hanoi.

• 12:00 PM: The group will have lunch in Ha Giang city. After lunch, we will continue our journey back to Hanoi.

• 08:00 PM: Arrive in Hanoi, concluding the tour program. See you again!
